Air Asia was launched as a low fare, no frills carrier in January 2002. Air Asia aims to make flying affordable so everyone can avail the fastest means of transport. That's why they expanded their domestic destinations to international sectors.
They expended their services so that more people can enjoy their low fares and experience the joy of traveling with Air Asia. They introduced their Nationwide Call Centre with local numbers for customer convenience, became Asia's first ticket on- line and pioneered the low cost carrier business model in Southeast Asia.
They expanded their fleet from 2 to 35 and to top it all, they have carried over 15 million passengers till date since they began operations in January 2002.
Located on plot Pt 25, adjacent to the Malaysian Airports Sepang Holding's engineering complex, the two- storey Air Asia Academy / simulator building spans a total of 53,782 sq ft with additional land capacity for future expansion.
Air Asia aims to provide quality training and development to their pilots. They started their own pilot training program. They are committed to develop more skilled home grown pilots.
