Forest reserves in the city

Exploring parks in Kuala Lumpur is always rewarding because the Malaysians have done a good job of setting up various parks within the city that serve as the “green lungs” of Kuala Lumpur. You might be surprised to find that there are various forest reserves in the city which shelter different animals and birds. You can find squirrels, tree shrews, and monkeys in these forest reserves in the city.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

As you go about exploring parks in Kuala Lumpur, don’t forget to pay a visit to the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. This is a fully-enclosed aviary that is home to over 50 species of birds, or a total of 5000 birds at the moment. Ninety-percent of these birds are native to Malaysia while the remaining 10% are imported birds. Fortunately, the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park spans up to 16 hectares so there’s plenty of room for all the birds to live and breed.
